ABOUT MY STUDIO SPACEThe Hobbs Building was built in 1904 in the West Bottoms of Kansas City. It was originally a furniture manufacturing company. The building, which was in danger of being torn down, was rescued in 1997 and turned into artist studios. Now the home of a five-star catering company, Feasts of Fancy, and several nonprofits, it is a vibrant example of the beauty of the old and resurgence of interest in Kansas City's industrial roots.
I've been in the building since the fall of 2012, when I moved to Kansas City. I've used the space mostly as a photography studio, until 2014, when I started making art here. It is a beautiful old space that I'm privileged to work in. |
